Lichfield Ladies are excited to announce their involvement in Women’s Premiership 7’s competition with Singha 7s for the very first time. This season, Singha 7s has confirmed that in addition to the Men’s Premiership teams being involved, they have extended the invite to the Women’s Premiership teams.

The Women’s Premiership 7’s Final will take place before the men’s final in front of thousands at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. The final will kick off at 5:20pm on Sunday 7th August.

Before Lichfield Ladies can think about the final, they’ll have to navigate their way through the pool stages. The RFU have kindly organised for the pool stages to take place earlier in the day at Broadstreet RFC. Lichfield Ladies are in Pool 2 along with Saracens, Wasps and Bristol. Pool 1 is Richmond, Aylesford, Worcester and DMP.  Lichfield has their eye on the final and will need a top two finish to progress from the pool stages to the semi-finals.

Becky Williams, Director of Rugby at Lichfield, said: “This is an amazing opportunity to be part of the first ever Women’s Premiership 7’s and an honour for our players to play alongside the men. This is a well-deserved experience for the players to showcase what they can do in front of so many rugby fans.

“The club is honoured to be a part of this and we have been preparing hard over the summer. Events like the 24/Sevens have been used as a stepping stone for this event, to ensure our players had the exposure at the highest level of the 7’s competitions.

“Women’s rugby is entering another ground breaking point in our development and exposure, this will be an exciting addition to the Singha 7’s event.”
